A push mower is the most wonderful thing if you have only a small patch of lawn. When your grass gets a little bit long it is so easy to just get out the push mower and give it a quick going over. No need to plug in the electric cord and make sure you do not fall over it. No need to go down to the local petrol station and buy a gallon of 2 stroke to fill up the petrol mower. No cost involved, no hassle, no stress. Not even much effort involved either. Just push it along in front of you like a pushchair.
A push mower is so environmentally friendly too, which in this day and age is a good thing. There is no noise pollution as it just makes a gentle sound as the blades turn over, there is no pollution of the atmosphere because there is no emission of any sort of gas except perhaps the sweat off your brow, and that is only if you haven’t done it for a while or if it is a really hot summer’s day.
Of course, the effort involved increases with the size of your lawn. I would not recommend a push mower for a large lawn unless you really want the exercise. But, oh, what a wonderful feeling it is to know that you are making something beautiful and not hurting anything or anyone in the process.
